The Cat Is Out

My stint on the X Factor might have garnered some unwanted attention on social media, but I’m not the only one who’s been thrown into the limelight against their will. Thanks to Antonia Brookes, the cat is out of the bag and the whole world now knows about Charlie’s pregnancy.

‘I blame the dress,’ she said when she called on Monday. ‘I may as well have turned up to the studio with a tattoo on my forehead saying “Knocked up”.’

Antonia, a killer session violinist and one of Charlie’s biggest competitors, must have noticed the bump and decided to use it to her advantage. Instead of approaching Charlie and saying congratulations, as most decent people would, she kept schtum until she got home. Then out came her claws and down they went onto her keyboard, breaking the news to the music industry in the most efficient and damaging way.

You looked so stunning tonight. Huge congratulations! You’re going to be an amazing mum! Boy or girl, do you know yet?
